Life at WeShape- November

Life at WeShape- November

Whilst everyone is officially getting ready for Christmas, take a look back at our busy November at WeShape! We had many exciting events last month, such as an awards show, a new starter, Movember, senior leadership and networking events.

Firstly, we are proud to announce on November 10th, WeShape won in the category of Services Company of the Year at the UK IT Industry Awards by Computing! After going up against nine other shortlisted businesses in the IT industry, we’d like to thank all of our employees, customers, partners and suppliers who have helped us get to this point!

This award recognises excellence amongst IT systems and suppliers who have achieved significant business success in the past year and can demonstrate high levels of customer satisfaction and business benefits from users. Thank you again to Computing for the recognition and opportunity to celebrate in such an exciting space!

On 1st of November, we had a new starter this month!

Nima Nikoobian- New Chief Revenue Officer

We'd like to welcome Nima Nikoobian into WeShape today! He is joining us as our Chief Revenue Officer. He has extensive and diverse knowledge on growing businesses, which is essential on our journey at WeShape.

In November, we celebrated Remembrance Sunday. We would like to take the time to remember the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and servicewomen for all of the sacrifices they have made.

On November 16th, we hosted our 11th London Tech Leaders event, a peer-to-peer network and panel for C-suite, Heads of and Directors. The evening began with a quick drinks introduction amongst guests at Zego's office (right behind Liverpool Street Station). This was followed by a panel based on cybersecurity (by popular request) then food and drinks at the White Horse Pub. Big thanks to our panellists Munawar Valiji, Cary Vidal, Phil Knight, David Crawford and Edward Tucker for an interesting discussion around cyber crime, threats, risks and more.

We heard from experts: Glenn Wilson, Jessica Cregg, Steve Giguere, Murat Lostar and Francesco Cipollone who discussed concepts around CVE, CSS and Best Effort Security Testing and Decision Making (BESTdm). November hosted the start of the World Cup! As many people at WeShape are from different cultural backgrounds, there have been a few friendly competitions of team support.

November was the month of Movember where we supported Vic Williams who participated in the Movember challenge. If you want to stay in touch with our social updates, follow our Instagram here.

At WeShape, we acknowledge and understand the importance of men’s health; physical and mental. Therefore, we decided to focus on some of our male colleagues to find out more during Movember; interviewing Vic Williams and Steven Moore. We are supporting Vic doing the Movember challenge and will match donations made (up to £500 total), click the link here to donate.

On November 24th, we attended B Corp UK's event at the National History Museum. We are proud to be one of 1000 B Corp Certificated companies in the UK with an above average impact score of 91.5. B Corp certification. To attain this certification businesses must practice high standards of verified performance, transparency and accountability from charitable donations and employee benefits to ethical input material and supply chain practices.

At the event it was fantastic to see so many inspirational stories of businesses doing good for the environment and communities. We are happy to be part of a network that is moving towards creating an equitable, sustainable and inclusive society and planet. Last but not least, at the end of November, we hosted WeShape's consultant Christmas party. We had a fun evening at Clays full of virtual clay pigeon shooting, drinks and food! It was fantastic for the core team to catch up and meet with the associate network, we look forward to more meetings in the future.
