One of our key clients is looking for a Data Software Engineer to join an ongoing project, through to the end of 2024. The role is remote, and outside of IR35.

The role involves the design, development, implementation, and support of a cutting-edge real-time data platform, which includes data streaming, a data lake, and an analytics database.

‍

Skills required: 

• Senior Data Software Engineer
• Experience with SQL/relational databases - (Exasol, Oracle and PostgreSQL)
• Software Engineering experience - Java development is key, as well as other object-oriented programming languages
• Understanding of big data principles
• Good experience with data process technologies - Apache (Flink/Beam)
• Strong experience working with high velocity and high volume data, including good experience in handling relational, semi-structured, and unstructured data 

‍

Desirable: 

• Expertise with Kafka Connect 
• Good knowledge of Hadoop Cluster Architecture and hands-on experience within Cloudera Hadoop ecosystems - this will be a big bonus
• Good working knowledge with Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Exasol
• Knowledge of any one of the scripting languages, such as Python, Shell Scripting, or PERL.
